The open source operating system is based on the Chrome browser, which is designed to work exclusively with web applications.

“We are working on bringing the device later this fall,” said Google vice president of product management Sundar Pichai at CompuTex Taipei, Asia’s biggest IT trade show.

“It’s something which we are very excited by . . . We expect it to reach millions of users on day one,” he said.

So far, there are about 70 million Google Chrome browser users (as Google claims it), so I am pretty sure that the OS will be pretty popular among the users. And I really believe Google is coming up with a really big competition against Microsoft.

No, really. Just think about it. About 10 years ago we did not have internet usage as much as we do today. Everything is going up to the cloud, and all the applications/programs going there too. So I would say in about another 5-10 years everything will be on internet.

Google launched Buzz as one of its services. What is Buzz? Well.. Here’s what Google says about it:

So, basically, Google Buzz is some sort of RSS combined with all of your social networking, and it’s all with in your Gmail. Buzz also works on cell phones (iPhone, Blackberry, and Android).  So Buzz is some kind of social network. But why do we need another social network if we already have Facebook, MySpace, Twitter…? I think Google Buzz should be an addition to all the social networks instead of replacing them. And I totally agree with what Augie Ray said:

“I expect experimentation but not wholesale switching in the foreseeable future,” said Forrester media analyst Augie Ray. “Buzz could end up supplementing rather than replacing users’ other social networks for now.”

So, in my opinion, we should start thinking about supplementing social networks, not replacing them.

Are you bored with your Windows or Mac environment? Do you want to try something new? Well, go ahead and try Google Chrome OS! As I said in previous posts, I am a fan of Google products, and I try to use all of them. So, gdgt got a working version of Google Chrome OS for ya! Just go to http://gdgt.com/google/chrome-os/download/ and register. You’ll need VMware Player (or VMware Fusion for Macs) to get it running. VirtualBox can also use VMware VMDK images, but it isn’t always perfect. If you don’t know how to install it, please go to this website, and follow the instructions.

Now, this is a developer build, so it has A LOT OF bugs. In addition, the OS is very slow (at least on my computer). Overall, I liked Chrome OS. I liked the design and the idea. Personally, I think this is the future OS because we all are getting high speed internet, so why do we need to buy software in a store? Just buy it online, and use it online. No need to download anything.

I have good news for you people. I just got my Google wave invitation (I asked for it about 3 days ago). I am really excited right now, and I really want to give it a shot and discover what it really is. I love Google applications (Google Apps, Google Chrome, Google Earth, etc.), so I will try to keep up with Google. If you want to know what Google Wave is, please watch the video below.

As you all know hacking is illegal, therefore I will not teach you how to hack, BUT I will tell you the feature of Google Chrome that I’ve found. Of course, if you want to try it out on your computer, you need to install Google Chrome. Okay, lets start

Launch your Google Chrome, and go to any website you want to change. For example, I will go to Google. Select an element that you would like to change, right click on it, and press Inspect element.

When you see Inspect windows, double click on a property of the element that you want to change. For example, I want to change the Google logo in the middle of the screen. I double click on src=”/intl/en_ca/images/logo.gif” and I can change the logo now. Let’s change it to one of my favourite pictures. Here’s what I type in src=”http://www.fundromeda.com/pictures/funny_pictures/sized/google_search.jpg” I would like to change the hight of the picture, so it does not appear squished on the website, let’s make it 200 pixels. Finally, close the Inspect element windows, and enjoy your result!

**Note: you are not able to change the code in Google’s database, you are just changing the code to change the look of the page that Google Chrome displays. Once you reload the page, all your settings are going to be erased.

Just about 5 minutes ago I discovered that something has changed. Google often changes its page’s logo, and when you click on the logo, you get the reason why Google has changed its logo. But right now, when I click on “Googlle” I just get the results for “Google”. I have no idea why this is happening, but I am pretty sure, it’s another Google’s “game”, and I’m sure that soon they will tell us why this is “Googlle”.

Ooooops…. While I was writing this. I found the answer. According to www.huffingtonpost.com, Google logo spelled wrong to celebrate its 11th anniversary. Thanks for the answer, www.huffingtonpost.com!

Monopoly is going to be online soon. Google is going to develope the online game with Monopoly’s manufactures. You will be able to buy the real streats like Downing Street  and the Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington. The game is going to be free, and there’s no files that you will have to download. So let’s wait a little bit and start buying the world’s streets!
